Chief Spellcaster

Arthur Kelly

Level 40 Wizard

Arthur has been playing since the days of analog games, yah, that long ago. My first digital games were on a Commodore 64 which included my all-time favorites Autoduel and Archon and the SSI series of D&D as well. The oldest game I remember playing would be Zork, a text-based adventure. As for analog games, I played D&D (when it was just D&D) and every genre role-playing games around like Star Frontiers, Boot Hill, Marvel, Robotech, ShadowRun and so much more. My first foray into online gaming was one of the original MMORPG's Asheron's Call (arguably the best MMORPG ever made), Dark Age of Camelot, WoW, Star Wars Galaxies and many others as well. When it comes to boards gaming, I really love dice games and card games but now with kids, I enjoy games like SmashUp and deck builders.

In 2014, I launched BoardCrunch, which was a name to throw on a gaming group to attend Gen Con under. That has grown exponentially and as of 2019, we are running 140 events for over 3000 player hours of game experiences. We run tournaments and casual games for system like Star Wars X-Wing and Legion, Dice Throne and now Keyforge.

I've decided to put all of that gaming experience into my own publishing company and the company name is an homage to my youngest daughters, Madison and Amber. Constantly blending their names while screaming for them, I did a play on words and combined them to make Madber which turned into Mad Bear and finally Mad Bear Games.
